FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Blakely Families,

The 2024 school year is nearly complete with only a few days left. Congratulations to our students, staff and families for the hard work and dedication. Blakely is a special community because of all of you and it continues to be a privilege to be a Blakely Bulldog.

This week will be busy with field trips and one final assembly on Thursday to say good-bye to our fourth grade friends as they transition to Sakai and start a new journey! To say I am proud of them would be an understatement. Many have been here since Kindergarten and watching them grow and mature into the amazing young people they are is truly the best part of being in education.

We will have a few changes next year at Blakely. Ms. Claiborne will be moving to second grade. Ms. Byron will be transitioning to Bainbridge High School. Ms. Beckett will be moving from highly capable to the ILC. Ms. Sitzenstock will be moving to Sakai as their new interventionist.

I have hired Heidi Clark, who is currently working in the Mercer Island School District, as the new first grade teacher. Heidi comes with a wealth of experience and is excited to join the Blakely community. Ms. Pond will continue as our Counselor until December when Ms. Keller returns.

I am currently in the process of hiring a new Interventionist as well as a highly capable teacher. Once those positions are filled I will make an announcement, but likely to come in August.

Have a wonderful summer!

Warm regards,

Reese Ande

2024-2025 SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS

FROM THE HEALTH ROOM - MEDICATION PICK UP

FROM THE HEALTH ROOM

**IMPORTANT**   If your student has medications in the health room, please remember to pick them up by the end of the school day on the last day of school. If they are not picked up, they will be kept locked in the health room cabinet over the summer. If you do not pick them up and they expire over the summer, they will be properly disposed of at the end of the day on the last day of school.

Let me know if you have any questions as to when your student’s medications are due to expire.

Please contact Nurse Marci if you have questions.       206-780-2074     mcollins@bisd303.org

END OF  YEAR REMINDERS

Make Sure to check lunch account balances to make sure
you have it cleared up for the summer! To make an online payment go here.  You can also send a check in payable to Blakely Elementary.

Are you moving over the summer?

If you are not returning to BISD schools, please contact Kyanne Hawkins in the office at 206-780-2060 to let us know your plans!

This helps us with enrollment and placement. Thanks for your help.

Are you missing a coat?  Lunch box?  Water Bottle?
Our lost and found is overflowing.  Please remind your student to check the lost and found in the entry hall.  If anything has a name on it we will return to the student.  All remaining items will be donated at the end of the school year.

It's time to do the ABCs for all students returning to
BISD for the 2024-25 school year!

Our Annual Back-to-school Check-in (ABC) process lets us know that your student(s) are returning to our schools for 2024-25 and allows parents/guardians to review annual information.

The ABCs must be completed* for all students attending BISD schools in 2024-25 — this includes both new and returning students.  Access the ABCs by logging into your Family Access account. It should take about 15 minutes (or less!) to complete.

If you need assistance with the ABC process (such as translation, accessing technology, or other questions), please contact the office manager at your student's school.

*Class placement/class schedules will not be released in August until the ABCs are completed. But why delay? Go ahead and take care of it today!

In order to hit the ground running with meetings next fall, BISD is looking for community members to serve on various committees.
