About Me

I grew up here on Bainbridge Island. After graduating from BHS, I earned my BA in History at Willamette University. I then joined a teaching organization that places recent college graduates as teachers in disenfranchised communities for a two-year commitment and was placed in Las Vegas. I absolutely fell in love with education and teaching and here I am, many years later! I have an M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and an M. Ed. in Special Education, both from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (Go Rebels!) and I am always striving to learn more and improve in order to meet the needs of each and every student.

I began teaching in 2005 and have been working for the Bainbridge Island School District since 2013. I have worn many hats in education, including classroom teacher, instructional coach, academic interventionist, highly capable teacher, K-5 special education teacher, and literacy coach.

I love to spend time with my two children, Calvin and Lizzie, my husband, Chris, and our two cats, Frank and Ron. Most of my family still lives on Bainbridge and it is great fun to raise my kids in this beautiful place where I was lucky enough to grow up!
