Hello Bulldog Families,
The days and weeks are flying by, and I continue to feel so proud of our Blakely community. Students are settling into routines, and staff are thoughtfully nurturing and nudging them to embrace challenges and celebrate their achievements. The year is off to a strong start, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside our students, staff, and families. As always, thank you for taking a few moments to read the updates below — there are a few important reminders I want to highlight this week.
Smart Watches and Phones
As a reminder, our school policy is that cell phones should be turned off and stored in backpacks upon arrival at school. Smart watches with messaging capabilities should also be kept in backpacks during the school day. If you need to reach your child, please contact the front office, and we’ll make sure the message is delivered. Keeping devices tucked away helps everyone stay focused on learning.
Attendance
We continue to focus on consistent attendance and are proud to share that we’re averaging 96% of students present each day — that’s terrific! One area where we can improve is Mondays (94%), which continue to be our lowest-attended day of the week. While Mondays are shorter, they include rich, extended instructional blocks and meaningful learning opportunities. Let’s work together to boost that Monday attendance rate and keep learning strong all week long.
Cooler Weather Reminders
With the change in weather bringing rain and colder temperatures, please check the forecast each morning and send your child in weather-appropriate clothing — and be sure to label jackets and coats. It’s also a great time to check our lost and found if your child is missing any items.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. It’s a joy to watch our Bulldogs learn, grow, and thrive together.
