From the Principal
Dear Blakely Community,

We are going to keep it simple this morning and focus on safety and Blakely systems. First, thank you to all families who drop off and pick up daily. Driving slowly and being aware of every student while driving is very important. Students can sometimes be distracted on sidewalks and getting into vehicles, so safety has to be the responsibility of the adults. Second, we have a designated drop off and pick up zone, which everyone is aware of at Blakely. Lately we have families who may be running late or simply don’t want to wait in the long lines and are dropping off in the bus zone. If you are a family of a child in K-4 child please use the designated drop off and pick up area.

Regards,
Reese Ande

Conferences

PTO Happenings
Call for Volunteers

Bingo Night is NEXT Friday, January 31st, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM! This exciting family event, coordinated by Blakely parent Natalia Molina and hosted by Blakely parent Chris Lum, promises to be filled with games, laughs, pizza, and fantastic prizes. Thank you Natalia & Chris! To ensure everyone has a wonderful time, we need your help! Parent volunteers are essential to making the evening run smoothly—whether it’s setting up, serving pizza, handing out prizes, or packing up afterward. Without enough volunteers, we won’t be able to create the fun and memorable night everyone looks forward to. Please take a moment to sign up for a quick and easy volunteer slot so Bingo Night can be a success for all!

Let’s show our amazing Blakely teachers how much we appreciate them during their long conference days! As part of our cherished tradition, we are organizing Teacher Conference Day lunches on February 12th-14th to nourish and support them. The PTO will provide the main entrée, but we need your help to make these meals extra special by setting up, contributing sides, drinks, or desserts, and/or cleaning. Your generosity will go a long way in showing our teachers how much they mean to us. Please sign up today to help us make this a truly heartfelt thank-you!

After School
After School Activities
After School Connect(Ed) Yoga and Mindfulness Club with Ms. Keller & Ms. Agnew: The way we think affects how we feel in our bodies, and how we feel in our bodies affects the way we think. Strengthening this mind-body connection is what this club is all about!

  • When: Thursdays after school for 8 weeks, starting January 30 (no class during conferences or mid-winter break).  Each session will run from 2:30pm - 4:00pm.

  • What: There will be two sections (grades 1/2 and grades 3/4), that will rotate between a 40-minute yoga class with Ms. Keller and a 40-minute mindfulness class with Ms. Agnew (with about 5 minutes at the end of each class for cleaning up, transitioning, etc.). The mindfulness class will coincide with the yoga class, and the themes/topics of each class will be connected. This integrated yoga and mindfulness club will allow students to move, learn about yoga and mindfulness, increase self-awareness, learn coping skills, and gain knowledge about the connection between the brain and body. A more detailed breakdown of weekly class themes will be provided to registered students and families prior to the start of the eight-week club. Cost is $120/student. For more information and to sign up, follow this link.
